October has been a month filled with priming and painting at Wayfarer Cottage. Rich, Sandy, Rachel, and Morgan (cutest little painter ever!) put a second exterior coat on the cottage, and only some small details and trim work remain. We can tackle those tasks when we’re home next summer, and the warmer, drier weather returns.
Inside, Jan and Joanie have been hard at work, priming and painting as well. There were lots of nail holes to fill and sand, before priming could begin!
Less than 2 months until we’re back and can join in on all the renovation fun! We can’t wait!!!
Cutest baby painter’s crack ever!
Eventually, once the kitchen cabinets are white, and the counter tops are updated, we’re thinking we’ll tile the backsplash with aqua tiles… so my mom painted the wall a pale aqua to give us an idea for how the space will feel. We plan to put a large framed mirror in the space between the cabinets, so we can still see the ocean when we’re washing dishes=).
The fireplace looks SO much better now that the brass insert has been painted black. Next step will be creating a built-in wall unit that encompasses the fireplace, and includes a beautiful wall-length mantel. YAY!
