Rolling back a few months and posting some photos from our trip to Astoria, Oregon this summer. Our friend Helene graciously offered us her peaceful river-front condo in Hammond for the weekend, and we had the best time there! Thank you, Helene! What a wonderful, tranquil retreat you have. We were at the coast to document our friends’ wedding, which you can see by visiting our photography website, Wayfarer Studio. Though we only lived about an hour from Astoria most of our lives, we never really visited. We were pleasantly surprised to find so many cute shops, galleries and restaurants around town, and we are hoping to make another trip back next summer! Mom introduced us to an incredible fish and chips stand that uses tuna. Delicious!!! If you ever come across the Bowpicker in Astoria, don’t think, just stop immediately and devour some fish and chips! We then HAD to explore all of the Goonies sites around town: the county jail (now the Oregon Film Museum), Mikey’s Dad’s work (Flavel House Museum), and the “Goonies House”. And in case you are wondering, yes, we most definitely did the “truffle shuffle” in front of the gate!
